"My husband and I recently enjoyed the “Vintage 51 Dining Experience” at Jack Binion’s Steak for the 1st time. The restaurant offers a nice atmosphere and I was immediately drawn to the music coming from the bar area. The band playing on Thursday night was incredible. I was told by the waitstaff that they play there pretty regularly too. The “Vintage 51 Dining Experience ” is 3 course meal that also includes a glass of wine. My husband and I both ordered the JBS Wedge Salad which we both LOVED! We each ordered the 6 oz Center Cut Filet that was served with Creamy House Made Fingerling Salad. The Filet was prepared to perfection and seasoned with great flavor. We also got to sample a menu item that was not part of our 3 course meal that night. The Dauphine Potato is a whipped sweat potato that is deep fried and sprinkled with sugar. The steak was amazing but I have a sweet tooth and I would order this item again by itself it that good! I also would have a hard time sharing this order again so I would probably need two. The meal is served with a glass of Jack Binion’s own Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Vintage 51. For the third course, we each chose a different dessert. My husband ordered the White Chocolate Wrapped Cheesecake. The cheesecake was delicious fusion of white chocolate and cheesecake. I ordered the “BERRIES” (Brown Butter, Balsamic, Berries, Basil) The Berries dish exceeded our expectations. It was light and extremely flavorful! The manager also brought out the Chocolate dessert that made picking a favorite even harder! The chocolate was broken down into a variety chocolate flavors and textures. We really enjoyed our meal which was a great date night paired with great food and atmosphere." -The Adventure Mom, adventuremomblog.com
"We were recently invited to Jack Binion's Steak in the Horseshoe Casino in Downtown Cincinnati to try out their Vintage 51 Special Dinner. Jack Binion's is located inside the Horseshoe Casino and is towards the front of the house. Inside is very elegant and there is a really nice bright glass wall that looks onto the front lawn - which is great for a concert night! The Vintage 51 Dining Experience is 3 courses and a glass of their Vintage 51 wine for $51. There are a couple of options for each course - and it's tough to choose! We were also lucky enough to take home some Horseshoe Casino glasses which Larry happily added to his man-cave collection. We started with an amuse-bouche that was a seared scallop on an aioli sauce as well as their signature puff rolls with gruyere cheese. The scallop was great but the bite was a little big for one bite :-) While we were dining, the manager came and spoke with us - he's so great! He came from Jimmy G's - so he's got some years under his belt with a delicious dining experience. Larry had chosen a craft beer from their selection - they had a few locals while I went for a margarita (yum!). The salads to choose from were a Wedge and the All-In. The wedge wasn't actually a wedge at all - which made it much easier to eat. It had Chopped Baby Iceberg, Heirloom Tomato, Crisp Benton Farm Bacon, and Compressed Onion and tossed in House Bleu Cheese. I actually had them swap ranch for bleu cheese because I'm not much of a fan. This was really good - it was the right amount of bleu. It's such a strong funky cheese that I can only take it in small doses. Vintage 51 is a Jack Binion's own special 2011 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon that was paired for the evening. It was a very rich red wine - I'm not much of a wine drinker but it definitely paired well with the entree. Not included with the Vintage 51 dinner were these extra sides but the folks at JB wanted me to try them out. We had shrimp mac & cheese (amazingly delicious), sautéed mushrooms and creamed spinach topped with crispy artichokes. I was a bit surprised at how delicious the spinach was - creamed spinach just isn't something that "sounds" good - but it is! Larry got the Crispy Skin Salmon which also had a salad with jalapenos and garbanzo beans. It was really nicely prepared. And I have to say - he took one for the team by not getting the steak at the Steak Place! I chose the 6 oz center cut filet. This was DELICIOUS. I've eaten a lot of steak recently and this was so good. The steak itself was perfectly prepared medium rare and had a buttery flavor. It was still juicy had that perfect bite texture. I don't know if that makes sense - but when a steak is cooked medium rare - it's a little raw and a little chewy but not completely raw - there's just a certain something when it's cooked right. This steak had all of that! This also came with a hunk of bone and there was marrow inside - so I took the bullet this time and tried it. I've heard it's "like butter" - so I smeared it on my roll. It's not like butter. I'll leave it at that. Maybe I didn't eat it right? After the entrees - we moved onto dessert. I was excited for the White Chocolate Wrapped Cheesecake. This had an oreo crust and a whole bunch of delicious. The fresh berries, the white chocolate coat - wow. Larry went for the Berries option with brown butter cake, berries, balsamic and a berry sorbet. He actually couldn't try the cake (eggs) but we split the rest. It was delicious as well. I was a bit surprised at how much flavor that cake had. It was really good - then since I had leftovers - I mixed the desserts together. :-) Why Should You Go? I think the steak was unbelievably good - the service was impeccable. The next time I want a great steak - it's definitely at the top of the list. " -The Food Hussy, thefoodhussy.com
"This was our second visit to Binion's in Cincinnati, and again we had a wonderful experience. The hostess and wait staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Then everything from the salads (caesar and all-in), the entrees (scallops for both of us), the side dishes (asparagus and baked potato), and dessert (chocolate cake and creme brulee) was superb. The kitchen was also willing to accommodate our special requests - my husband wanted steamed asparagus instead of grilled, that they had no problems with that. The scallops were large, flavorful and cooked exactly right, although the accompanying grits were a little tasteless. The creme brule had an artistic presentation that was matched by the combinations of flavors." -Kittygal, OpenTable
"Loved this restaurant! Made reservations for pre- Doobie Brothers concert that was eventually cancelled due to storms. Really enjoyed the meal - could see the concert venue out the window being pelted by rain, wind, and lightening. Husband had steak tartar - loved it. I had the lobster bisque which was OK. My husband had the tomahawk steak which had a large bone protruding from it (thus the name) and I had the filet. Both were probably the best steaks we've ever had - I think we both liked the steaks there even better than St. Elmos in Indy! And that is very hard to beat! The creamed corn was also fabulous as a side dish. We were too full for dessert. Our server (Sarabeth) was very enthusiastic." -Indyjaybird, OpenTable
"This was our second time at this restaurant and we had a wonderful experience! Superb food and service! Thank you General Manager, Ross Highley and our server, Ludovic for making our meal so memorable! We will be back!" -Amyb, OpenTable
"We visited on restaurant week, to try Jack Binion's Steak at the Horseshoe Casino. When we arrived it was quite noisy because of the casino, but when your seated behind the bar it completely becomes a different area where you can carry on a conversation. Our whole group is meat eaters, and we all agreed the fillet was the best steak we had ever eaten. It was tender, tasty and just wonderful! The rolls are a plus too. The servers were all very outstanding; your drink was never empty, without asking. All in all it was a very pleasant experience at Jack Binion's. I’m sure we will return, and we won't wait for next year's restaurant week." -Bea44, OpenTable
